Big LAMP Camp (Nov. 7 - all day)

On Saturday, Nov. 7, hundreds of LAMP developers will converge on Nashville suburb Franklin, TN, to learn about the inner workings of LAMP from bleeding edge technologists and business innovators. The multi-track, all-day event will feature speakers such as:

  • Keynote speaker Marco Tabini, CEO of Blue Parabola and former publisher of PHP|Architect magazine and Python Magazine;
  • Eli White of Zend Developer Zone;
  • Doctrine lead developer Jonathan Wage of Sensio Labs;
  • Perl guru Cory G. Watson of Magazines.com;
  • John Reuning, Lead Architect of Lulu.com;
  • Google AppEngine developer Jackson Miller, creator of iPhone game GPS Assassins;
  • Baron Schwartz, Director of Consulting for Percona, Inc.;
  • Chris Prather, CEO of Tamarou and core developer of the Moose framework;
  • Mike Frank, Senior Product Manager, Database Group at Sun Microsystems;
  • Paul M. Jones, Web Architect at OmniTI and creator of the Solar PHP framework;
  • Robert Dempsey, Founder of Atlantic Dominion Solutions, Certified ScrumMaster and Ruby on Rails expert;

  • Stevan Little, Senior Developer at Infinity Interactive and creator of the Moose Framework for Perl;
  • Dustin Whittle, Developer Evangelist for Yahoo’s Open Strategy; and
  • Ryan Balfanz, Python and Hadoop developer at GalaxyZoo.org.

The credibility and authority of the Camp speakers will provide a high-powered, low-cost training opportunity for development teams. In addition, it will offer direct access to the coders who use, troubleshoot and evangelize the LAMP software suite, providing an excellent recruiting opportunity for firms that require exceptional talent.

Wear Your Tux Mixer (Nov. 6 - evening)

Big LAMP Camp participants will break out their Tuxes** (or Red Hats) for a complimentary kick-off mixer in the spectacular 27th floor penthouse of Nashville's AT&T Building, joining CTOs who have attended that day's Enterprise LAMP Summit for technology executives.  The reception, which will feature dueling brands from Nashville's top breweries, will offer developers a chance to meet decisionmakers from innovative companies that are looking for exceptional talent and are early adopters of powerful Open Source web technologies. To enliven conversation---and in some cases, ease recruiting efforts---developers are encouraged to wear logo attire to this casual event.

**That's Tux the Linux mascot, not black-tie attire.

Event location for Wear Your Tux Mixer (Nov. 6): AT&T Building, 333 Commerce St., Nashville, TN 37201. Enter at the corner of 4th Avenue and Commerce Street.
